That the Parliament congratulates everyone at Aberdeen Community Energy (ACE) on its Donside Hydro scheme being recognised as the Best Community Project at the Scottish Renewables Green Energy Awards, which were presented on 1 December 2016; further congratulates Highland Eco-Design on winning the award for Best Professional Services in recognition of its work on the scheme; understands that ACE is a community benefit society that was set up in 2015 by the Donside Community Association to build, own and operate the hydro on behalf of the community; recognises the important role that is played by the tenants and residents of the Donside village scheme for social and affordable housing, which is supported by housing associations from across Aberdeen, in ensuring that plans for the hydro became a reality; considers that such projects have an important role in ensuring that communities can realise the benefits of renewables, and wishes the project continued success in the years to come.
