  • Submitted by: Jamie Greene, West Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 06 December 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-02942

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Ayrshire College is appointing a student wellbeing adviser to help tackle the problem of mental health among young people; considers that, despite the progress that has been made, there remains a stigma in relation to mental health and that people should commit to challenge this; believes that mental health problems should not be an embarrassing topic to discuss, and highlights the importance of providing an open and inclusive forum to discuss mental health issues.
