Air Pollution in Scottish Cities

That the Parliament notes with concern the report from the European Environment Agency, Air Quality in Europe - 2016 Report, which estimates that exposure to air pollution is responsible for around 467,000 premature deaths each year in Europe, and over 50,000 in the UK; recognises that a number of cities, such as Paris, Mexico City, Madrid and Athens, have announced measures to curb the use of diesel vehicles in their streets, and notes calls for measures to be taken in Scotland to improve air quality in cities, including in Edinburgh, and improve the health of people living in them.
