Green Energy Awards

  • Motion reference: S5M-02920

That the Parliament congratulates all of the winners and nominees at the Scottish Renewables' Green Energy Awards, at which over 1,000 guests attended; pays particular tribute to recently-retired director of energy and low carbon at Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Calum Davidson, who was given the Outstanding Contribution Award in recognition of his enormous contribution to the renewable energy industry, and notes that Calum's sterling work in the marine sector was also recently marked by Atlantis Resources naming one of its turbines in the MeyGen tidal array in the Pentland Firth, which, it understands, is the largest tidal energy scheme in the world, after him.
