E-VR Opens as Scotland’s First Virtual Reality Centre

That the Parliament welcomes the opening of E-VR, Scotland’s first virtual reality (VR) centre, at Ocean Terminal in Leith on 1 December 2016; notes that the centre consists of gaming pods and a VR incubator available to developers, artists and film makers; further notes that the project has been led by Lynzi Leroy and Peter Burnett; considers that E-VR will provide experiences suitable for children of eight and above, including Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine, voyages of exploration such as TheBlu and The Body VR, and single and multiplayer games for all ages and tastes; further considers that VR has the ability to make significant contributions and advances to health and education sectors; acknowledges that the E-VR incubator will provide an environment where talented independent VR developers can work on their own projects and programmes for education and the gaming and commercial industries; acknowledges that E-VR is currently developing a programme with local schools to provide a unique learning experience for the pupils; congratulates all those who have been involved in developing this initiative, and wishes E-VR all the best for the future.
