Helensburgh Nurse Retires after 50-year Career

That the Parliament thanks Christina Allen for her commitment to the people of the Dumbarton for more than 50 years; understands that Christina, who retired in November 2016, had her first nursing experience at the age of 13 when she was a member of the Red Cross; further understands that, since completing her nursing training at the age of 21, she has worked in the Vale of Leven Hospital; notes that she helped to set up the hospital’s promotion project, Heart Clinic on Wheels, which aimed to promote healthy living to people in deprived areas; recognises that Christina was one of the first nurses to qualify as a nurse practitioner; welcomes her care for patients throughout her career, latterly at the Millig Practice in Helensburgh, and wishes her well in her retirement.
