  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 01 December 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-02885

That the Parliament congratulates everyone at the Fife Folk Museum on it being awarded a £19,470 grant from the Big Lottery Fund; understands that it will use this to establish a heritage arts hub, which will include arts, craft and heritage elements; believes that this will offer a range of after-school, evening and weekend activities throughout the year, with daytime holiday workshops taking place during July and August, and that eight to 18-year-olds will have the opportunity to come together with older people to explore the design, inventions and cultural traditions that shape lives today; understands that it will deliver outreach sessions for young people who are rurally isolated, socially or economically deprived; notes that around 70 younger and 50 older people will participate in the project, and wishes them well.
