That the Parliament recognises the important role that apprenticeships play in allowing young people to gain new skills and enter the workforce; applauds the efforts of companies across Scotland to offer more apprenticeships and, in particular, praises Ferguson Marine in Port Glasgow for its ambitious apprenticeship programme that has recruited young people from the local area, including a number of young women in a traditionally male dominated industry; congratulates the company on its recent award of SME Employer of the Year 2016 at the Scottish Modern Apprenticeship Awards, and congratulates all the apprenticeship award winners.
