Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week

  • Submitted by: Pauline McNeill, Glasgow, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 29 November 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-02844

That the Parliament supports Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week 2016, which runs from 1 to 7 December; understands that Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are often considered invisible illnesses and supports the efforts of the charity, Crohn’s & Colitis UK, to make sure that the impact of these debilitating conditions is visible; notes that both have no known cure, can be unpredictable, lifelong, potentially life-threatening and are becoming more common in young people, and welcomes the efforts to raise awareness of Crohn’s and colitis.
