Wedding Hairdresser of the Year, Lana Fisher

  • Submitted by: Stuart McMillan, Greenock and Inverclyde, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 29 November 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-02811

That the Parliament congratulates the Inverclyde resident, Lana Fisher, who was crowned as Wedding Hairdresser of the Year at the Scottish VOWS Awards 2016; recognises that the awards attracted over 11,500 nominations from approximately 740 companies from across Scotland; notes that Lana, a former Greenock Academy pupil, runs Cameo Bridal Styling, and started working in the hair industry when she was just 13 after securing a Saturday job in a salon; understands that she started building her own bridal business up at 22 while juggling her full-time retail job in Greenock; acknowledges that her hard work and determination over the past six years paid off when she was able to quit her retail job in 2016 to concentrate solely on her wedding venture; notes that she has worked at 115 weddings in 2016 alone and has earned a deserved reputation as one of the finest wedding hairdressers in Scotland, and wishes Lana every success in her career.
