That the Parliament congratulates the West Calder public band on its 150th anniversary; notes that the band has a long and proud history representing the former shale-mining village and surrounding district at gala days, competitions, festivals, events and special services across Scotland and beyond; understands that it has helped teach hundreds of young people how to play musical instruments and provided great pleasure to the many people who have heard it play; wishes everyone at the band well for the celebratory concert to mark the anniversary, and looks forward to the band enjoying many more years of musical success.
