  • Motion reference: S5M-00307

That the Parliament welcomes the decision by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to hold its annual conference in Edinburgh from 27 June to 2 July 2016; recognises that this is the first time the conference, which involves representatives from all 106 cricket-playing countries, has been held outwith the traditional Test playing nations; further recognises that Scotland is one of cricket’s leading Associate Member countries and that the presence of the ICC Annual Conference will be a huge boost to Cricket Scotland and the profile of the Scottish game around the cricket-playing world; understands that the ICC hopes to demonstrate its support and commitment to the development of cricket within the Associate Membership of the ICC by holding its conference outwith the usual Test playing nations, and wishes all those involved in Cricket Scotland and the organisation of the conference a successful event.
