  • Submitted by: Dean Lockhart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 15 September 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-01478

That the Parliament congratulates Stirling Orchestra on reaching the grand final of the BBC competition, All Together Now: The Great Orchestra Challenge; notes that the orchestra will now face the North Devon Sinfonia at London’s Royal Albert Hall; understands that the winners will play at the BBC Proms in the Park; considers that, as Scotland’s only representative in the competition, Stirling is doing a commendable job in promoting Scottish music on the national stage, and wishes all involved in the orchestra the very best of luck in the final.
