  • Submitted by: Colin Beattie, Midlothian North and Musselburgh, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 09 April 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12756

That the Parliament congratulates the Bill Russell Woodburn Youth Project on its award of £18,114  from the National Lottery Community Fund; notes that this one-year project will support up to 20 children and young people, aged between eight and 14 years old, with two drop-in sessions on Saturday afternoons; understands that the children and young people will come from the areas of Woodburn and Dalkeith, and that the project provides a warm and friendly place for young people to meet with their peers and engage with experienced youth workers; welcomes the project, which, it believes, achieves its purpose by providing a welcoming environment in which to encourage social and computer skills, develop social responsibility and enhance self esteem, and thanks all the staff for their continued hard work and dedication.
