Oscar Donnelly Named World Irish Dancing Champion

That the Parliament congratulates 12-year-old Oscar Donnelly on being named World Irish Dancing Champion in his division at the Oireachtas Rince na hÉireann 2024, which was held in Glasgow in March; understands that this is the third successive year that Oscar has been named world champion; notes that Oscar, who grew up in Coatbridge, trains with the Sharon Taylor Irish Dance Academy in Bellshill; understands that Oscar trains five times a week regularly, and every day in the lead up to championships; commends Oscar’s work ethic and commitment to Irish dancing, which he was been doing since he was three years old; praises Oscar for placing ahead of 20 other competitors; understands that competitors from 17 countries entered the championship; wishes Oscar continued success into the future, and congratulates all other competitors who took part in the competition.
