  • Motion reference: S6M-12650

That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) for a record-breaking league cup final, which was held at Tynecastle between Rangers and Partick Thistle; understands that the attendance of 4,786 was over 1,000 greater than the previous record of attendance for the same competition, and that, as it is sponsored by Sky Sports, it was available live across the world; notes that Rangers retained the cup after beating Partick Thistle 4-1; congratulates all who participated, including winning captain, Nicola Docherty, and manager, Jo Potter; acknowledges what it sees as the fantastic work completed by managing director of the SWPL, Fiona McIntyre and her team, to increase the profile of the competition and the women's game as a whole as it continues to go from strength to strength, and wishes all teams within the SWPL all the best for the rest of the season.
