Glasgow Restaurant, Mother India's Café, Celebrates 20 Years in Business

  • Submitted by: Annie Wells, Glasgow, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 20 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12577

That the Parliament congratulates Mother India's Café restaurant, in the west end of Glasgow, on celebrating its 20th year in business; understands that Asif Ali has run Mother India's Café, on Argyle Street, since 2004 as part of the family’s restaurant group; further understands that the café opened as an extension of the Mother India brand, which was started by his brother, and believes that the Indian-style tapas concept café, borrowing the Spanish tradition of serving lots of small dishes, has built a loyal customer base over the years, and promotes the best of authentic Indian cuisine.
