Victims' Awareness Week

That the Parliament notes that the week commencing 19 February is Victims’ Awareness Week 2024; considers that this is an important opportunity to ensure that everyone in Scotland is aware of victims’ rights; acknowledges what it sees as the long-lasting physical and mental impact that crime can have on victims and their families; believes that many victims of crime often struggle to navigate the criminal justice system; commends the work of Victim Support Scotland, which supports those affected by crime; encourages victims and witnesses of crime to report incidents to the police, and further encourages them and their families to seek guidance and information from Victim Support Scotland.
