Celebrating the Service and Recognition of McCaskie Butchers

That the Parliament congratulates Ms Elizabeth Craig Ovens on being awarded an MBE for her services to retail and the economy in Scotland following her long years of service working for McCaskie Butchers in Wemyss Bay; understands that Ms Ovens has worked at the butcher shop for over 62 years, and has co-owned McCaskie Butchers since 1998; further understands that McCaskie Butchers was named UK Butcher Shop of the Year in May 2023 by Food Manufacture and Meat Trades Journal, and is one of the most highly awarded butchers in the UK; congratulates the staff at McCaskie on their work and achievements; welcomes the celebration of local Scottish produce, and considers the many awards to be a testament to the outstanding quality of produce in Scotland; recognises Ms Ovens’s dedication and service to her community in Inverclyde and North Ayrshire, and celebrates her fantastic achievement.
