That the Parliament acknowledges the great success of the Royal Strathclyde Blindcraft Industries (RSBi), which is the manufacturing division of City Building and, it understands, an industry leader in social enterprise, combining commercial success with socially responsible practices; considers that RSBi, City Buildings and its new, dedicated, onsite training college is a centre of excellence in the delivery of supported employment and the development of young people, including apprentices; understands that, from its roots as a supported factory for the visually impaired, RSBi is today committed to providing opportunities for people with disabilities, as well as helping towards the economic regeneration of the local community and beyond; believes that the RSBi goes above and beyond to create an inclusive and collaborative workforce, which, it understands, has reaped great commercial success, and notes that RSBi employs more than 250 people, of which more than 50% have a disability, who, along with City Building, contribute to repairs and maintenance, design and build of construction projects, new house-building, major investment and refurbishment, manufacturing and specialist services, including district heating, solar thermal and solar PV installations.
