On this general tour through the Scottish Parliament building guides provide information on the history, work and procedures of the Scottish Parliament and about the architecture of the award winning Scottish Parliament building.

Tours are conducted in English. Tour handsets are available for use to accompany these public guided tours which provide a version of the guide’s commentary (suitable for adults due to the detailed content) in various languages. These can be requested using the booking form on this page.

As a family friendly Parliament, we welcome visitors of all ages. The crèche (open Monday to Friday) is an option for visitors who would prefer to have their child looked after while they are taking a guided tour.

  • This is not online booking and is not a guarantee of a guided tour. This form sends a request for a tour and only if the tour you have requested is available will we be able to make a booking for you.
  • Once you have completed this form please wait until you receive an email from us before making further arrangements to visit the Scottish Parliament.
  • If you are booking less than 24 hours in advance of your visit please call us as the booking requests are processed within office hours and it is likely that there will be limited availability for tours booked near to a visit

  • Visit the public gallery of the Debating Chamber
  • Shop, café and exhibition

Official Guidebook

Guide Book

A guidebook is available to enhance your visit.

Special offer! When you book a tour online and indicate that you would like to purchase a guidebook you will receive one voucher for a 10% discount in the shop and one voucher for 2 for 1 hot drinks in the café. The guidebook costs £5 and can be paid for when you arrive for your tour. You will receive the vouchers when you purchase the guidebook on arrival.
