The Health and Social Care Bill (“the Bill”) was introduced into the House of Commons of the UK Parliament on 19 January 2011.

1st Report 2011: Stage 1 Report on the Certification of Death (Scotland) Bill

The Certification of Death (Scotland) Bill (“the Bill”) was introduced by Nicola Sturgeon MSP, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing (“the Cabinet Secretary”), on 7 October 2010.

Report to the Finance Committee on Stage 2 of the 2011-12 budget process

The Committee considered those parts of the “Health and Wellbeing” chapter of the Scottish Government’s Scotland’s Spending Plans and Draft Budget 2011-12335 (“the draft budget”) that relate to health and sport.

11th Report 2010: Subordinate Legislation

At its meeting on 15 December 2010, the Health and Sport Committee considered the draft Sale of Tobacco (Registration of Moveable Structures and Fixed Penalty Notices) (Scotland) Regulations 2010.

10th Report 2010: Stage 1 Report on the Palliative Care (Scotland) Bill

The Palliative Care (Scotland) Bill (“the Bill”) (SP Bill 50)1 was introduced by Gil Paterson MSP, (the “member in charge”), on 1 June 2010.

The Patient Rights (Scotland) Bill (“the Bill”) was introduced by Nicola Sturgeon MSP, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing (“the Cabinet Secretary”), on 17 March 2010.

8th Report 2010 NHS board revenue allocations

draft budget contains little information how the 75% of health budget allocated to NHS boards will be used, it was not possible for the Committee to scrutinise it. Committee therefore took the view it would be appropriate to undertake a separate inquiry

5th Report 2010 Stage 1 Report on the Alcohol etc. (Scotland) Bill

Health and Sport committee must report to the Parliament on the general principles of the Alcohol etc. (Scotland) Bill. The Bill, if passed, would reform the law in furtherance of the Scottish Government’s strategy on tackling alcohol misuse

An inquiry launched into child and adolescent mental health as young users of mental health services are especially vulnerable and early identification, intervention and, at the older end of the range, successful transition to adult services are paramount
