Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to establish specific young people’s wards or rooms in hospitals for adolescents, and to ensure that staff receive adequate training to support young people’s mental and emotional needs in hospital.

28 January 2014: The Committee agreed to close the petition, under Rule 15.7, on the basis that the responses received by the Committee demonstrate that Health Boards have suitable provision and services for young people, and that there is little support to extend the upper age limit for this provision to 25 years.
