Children in care under child protection procedures are very vulnerable. When professionals misuse the rules to the detriment of the vulnerable child and their families, should the Care Inspectorate have the powers to investigate individual complaints?

Safe guards must be in place for the child. Too often the adult caring for that child is not as they may seem, and the child is not believed or the person with concerns... All to offen incidents are dismissed by professionals.

Parents are not believed. Professionals' word is taken without challenge. Evidence seems not to be required.

We must ensure such safeguards are in place.
