Benefits from a statutory based NFI There was a general consensus in the evidence we received about the benefits of putting the NFI on a statutory footing, for example— Increased participation: participation has been increased; this in turn has led to an increase in the number of data sets for comparison to produce matches for investigation. Overall it was felt this produced better results and made the exercise more successful and worthwhile.
