We already have 299 employers signed up to the Business Pledge, 694 Scottish Living Wage accredited companies and the highest proportion of employees paid the Living Wage or more of all four UK countries.
Two types of telephone intervention and support are provided: Living Life Guided Self Help Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT with a self-help coach) and Living Life Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT with a therapist).
The current position means that my constituents’ lives are disrupted on a regular basis—as the minister said, such antisocial behaviour is a weekly occurrence for people who have the misfortune to live anywhere near one of these party flats.The current system does not enable effective action to be taken.
Our immediate monetary situation has improved, but we are still living hand to mouth financially, and that looks set to continue for the foreseeable future.
Recommendation
Accordingly, the Committee recommends to the Parliament that the draft Disability Assistance (Scottish Adult Disability Living Allowance) Regulations 2025 be approved.
Unless a person has an opportunity and a real passion and is lucky enough to live next door to the old guy who is an expert on lichens or wood ants, for example, there is next to nowhere to find a way of getting through and making a living out of such knowledge.
The three key groups that are currently identified in legislation are homeless households, those living in unsatisfactory living conditions and, as we said, those with unmet housing need.
