If the situation arose, we would present a report to the head office in London, set out the facts and decide whether the company had breached the code of practice. If it was as bad as someone being found guilty of fraud, I have no doubt at all that the company would not be a member.

The main reason for those waiting lists was that availability status codes were applied to the procedure. The fact that the Government is abolishing availability status codes will mean that all patients will now be treated within the maximum waiting time guarantees.
