The Sunbed Association might be better placed to answer, because its members are some of the trade, but I imagine that it would always recommend a like-for-like replacement as supplied. The Sunbed Association's code of practice includes a manufacturing code as well as an operation code.

It was more about the clinical aspects than the coding. The criticism might have been that we were spending too much time focusing on getting the coding right, which other reviews show was a criticism of the board at the time.
