Is there a connection between the points-of-order issue and the "Scottish Ministerial Code"? We had a brief discussion of the matter at our previous meeting.
My amendment 55 sets out the creation of a code of practice on how assisted dying would interact with hospices and other providers of palliative and end-of-life care.
The bill contains only one laid-only provision:"Section 114(1) - Code of practice on disclosure".Are we content to find that power acceptable and that it is appropriate that the code of practice need only be laid before the Parliament?

It excludes patients with ASCs - Availability Status Codes. 2. Other providers of NHS treatment are included in the NHS Scotland total but not explicitly shown.
The power to give ministerial directions in respect of certain aspects of the code will mean that, where necessary or appropriate, ministers can direct persons to comply with certain aspects of the code.
As with the free provision of period products, the legal protection of breastfeeding in public places was important to women’s lives, as voluntary codes had simply not worked. That was why we needed legislation then and it is why we need legislation now on this issue.
