The bill repeals section 1 of the 1996 act. On top of that, section 5 in the English act—the Defamation Act 2013—deals directly with operators of websites in a way that is not carried across into the bill.
It was suggested that a short survey is sent to CPG members over Summer to rank the top priorities and help identify individuals who would be keen to be a more active participant on the CPG.
