There has to be some form of voluntary regulation to integrate home safety so that the kind of activity that should happen does happen.My personal experience, from living in my constituency, is that I have not noticed many home safety visits taking place. Members have had the opportunity to read the paper and will recall that it was inspired by our visit to Westminster, where we learned that debates on Public Accounts Committee business take place, in which all members of the Westminster Parliament have the opportunity to take part.
However, it would be good if the introduction included something on how the committee views the context of the bill and reflected the fragility of the situation, which our visits helped to emphasise. Everything else could flow from that.
