I hope that the minister appreciates the problem that hospital car parking creates for families who several times a day visit their relatives in hospital. I suggest that Scotland's health boards offer free permit parking for qualified and registered families, and I hope that he will encourage that.

Of course, the bill contains no direct implication that schools will lose charitable status if they are providing clear public benefits. When I recently visited the principal of George Watson's College, which is in my constituency, he highlighted his fears about the future of the school in its current form if charitable status were to be removed.

During the inquiry into the prison estates review, we had something of a focus group session in most of the prisons that we visited. The sessions were of mixed value because, at times, I had the impression that some of the prisoners were just there because they had been told to go and they did not have much to contribute.
