The draft Designation Order and the draft Elections Order were laid before Parliament on 26 February. The Rural Development Committee formally considered the draft Orders on 26 March when they agreed the motions to approve the Orders.
On resuming— Before we proceed with business, I take this opportunity to inform members that I am to be in Canada on Wednesday 25 October and Thursday 26 October. Accordingly, I trust that members will grant me leave of absence.
The following table presents the latest available information. It combines deaths from intentional self-harm with deaths from events of undetermined intent, as the majority of the latter are likely to have been suicides.
I could not justify that in terms of buying prison services on behalf of the taxpayer, because I would not just be buying any prison service; I would be buying it more expensively.
