PE01534: Equal rights of appeal in the planning system

On 27 January 2015 the Public Petitions Committee referred petition PE01534 to the Local Government and Regeneration Committee.

The Committee considered considered this correspondence at its meeting on 3 June and agreed that it would hold a one-off oral evidence session on planning issues, including those raised in the petition.
Following the announcement on 1 September of the independent review of planning in the Scottish Government's Programme for Government, however, the Committee wrote to the Cabinet Secretary seeking further information on 3 September:

The Committee considered this correspondence at its meeting on 28 October and agreed to ask the Scottish Government to provide regular written updates on the progress of the review. It also agreed to put further consideration of the petition, and postpone any oral evidence on general planning issues, on hold until the review had been completed.
