EU Presidency evidence sessions

 

The Committee holds evidence sessions with the Ambassador of the Member State holding the new Presidency of the Council of the European Union on its EU priorities and their relevance to Scotland.

The presidency of the Council of the European Union rotates amongst member states every six months according to a pre-set order. The first semester starts on 1 January and ends at the end of June. The second semester starts on 1 July and ends on 31 December.

Luxembourg Presidency

On 1 July 2015, Luxembourg took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Committee took evidence, on the role of the Presidency and its key objectives, from the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, His Excellency Mr Patrick Engelberg (pictured above) on Thursday 17 September 2015.
