Remit
- To explore what existing good practice in local authorities and other agencies, in and beyond Scotland, is effective in preventing youth homelessness.
- To identify gaps in preventative service provision and establish how they could be closed.
Timetable
September 2011 to May 2013
Evidence
We set the inquiry remit in the light of an oral evidence session on 29 November and associated written evidence.
Following the meeting in November 2011, we carried out visits to support centres in Edinburgh, Inverness and Saltcoats, and held three oral evidence sessions where we heard from young people with experience of homelessness, voluntary organisations, witnesses involved in strategic planning and the Minister for Housing and Transport.
