Congratulations to the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre

That the Parliament congratulates the Eastgate Theatre on securing a £45,000 development grant from the Big Lottery Fund; notes that the theatre has been based in Peebles since 2004 as the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, and notes that the theatre provides an important and busy cultural hub for Tweeddale, providing a range of cultural activities and drawing audiences from across the region, and that the funding will allow the centre to start planning the best method for expanding and adapting its facilities in the face of increased demand.

First Year of the Eddleston Beer Festival

That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the Eddleston Beer Festival; notes that this is the first time the village of Eddleston has held such an event; further notes that the festival will showcase some of the best beer from local breweries, bringing together the local community and beer lovers from across Scotland, and wishes the organisers success in their first year.

10 Years of Fringe by the Sea

Generations Working Together

That the Parliament notes the success of the project between Newbyres Nursery and Newbyres Village Care Home that sees the children visiting the home's residents on a weekly basis; notes that it is operated by the charity, Generations Working Together, which aims to bring people together in purposeful, mutually-beneficial activities; believes that such activities promote greater understanding and respect between generations and contribute to building more cohesive communities, and wishes the project all the best.
