Question

To ask the Scottish Government whether the Cabinet Secretary for Justice has the power to stop Police Scotland training Sri Lankan police officers.


Answer

Under sections 15 and 87 of the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012, Scottish Ministers must approve the deployment of Scottish Police Officers when they are delivering training overseas.
