Australian Travels Furthest with Dinnie Steens

  • Submitted by: Alexander Burnett, Aberdeenshire West, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 17 April 2019
  • Motion reference: S5M-16976

That the Parliament congratulates Pete Seddon, from Woombye on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast on carrying the Dinnie Steens the furthest distance travelled in a single lift since the man the heavyweight challenge was named after; commends Pete's efforts as he officially came the closest to matching the Victorian-era lifter by carrying the two stones, which have a combined weight of 733lb, a total distance of 8ft 2in; recognises the tremendous physical pressure that this carries, and his determination, as he travelled across the world to lift the legendary granite boulders, and wishes him a safe journey home and continued success in his strongman ventures.
