Question

To ask the Scottish Government what information it has on the percentage of Scottish salmon farming production that is controlled by (a) Scottish, (b) UK and (c) Norwegian-owned companies.


Answer

The Scottish Government does not record this information but industry sources (Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation) suggest that Norwegian-owned companies are responsible for around 66 per cent of farmed salmon production in Scotland.
