CAMRA Awards for Pubs in the Lothians

That the Parliament congratulates Staggs Bar in Musselburgh on winning the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Lothians Pub of the Year 2013 and the Cask and Barrel (Southside) on winning CAMRA City of Edinburgh Pub of the Year 2013; believes that, by providing drinks in a managed environment, well-run community pubs are part of the answer to Scotland’s alcohol problem; is therefore concerned that, according to CAMRA, pubs in Scotland are closing at a rate of two a week; encourages all MSPs to support Community Pubs Month in April 2013, and calls on the Scottish Government to consider giving one minister overall responsibility for pubs.
