Gaelic debaters take centre stage


Two teams will tonight go head to head as they compete in the final of the BT Scotland National Schools Gaelic Debate taking place at the Scottish Parliament.

The debate, which is now in its 15th year, will see teams from Glasgow Gaelic School and Lionacleit School in Benbecula debate whether the Referendum will be the most important event in the coming year for Scotland’s young people.

A total of 22 teams representing 19 schools competed in this year’s competition, and the finalists will be welcomed to the Parliament by Deputy Presiding Officer, John Scott MSP.
