Previous Action

On a visit I had arranged with both Alyn Smith MEP and Mr John Bogie of Dundas Chemical factory, operating out of Dumfries, we uncovered what appeared to be an unfair trading anomaly which advantaged all rendering businesses out with Scotland who do not have to comply with SEPA regulations and licensing requirements of Scottish based companies

It was recognised by Alyn Smith MEP that there is an unfair issue and we await his further thought on what actions might be taken at EU level.

We have spoken with elected members at various parliaments for the same regulations and licensing to be placed on all who operate and remove product from within Scotland, as those who are based in Scotland, so that Scottish businesses are not competitively disadvantaged and penalised for being based within Scotland, meeting the high standards set down by SEPA.
