Education sessions for schools

We deliver education sessions to thousands of Scottish pupils every year – in the Scottish Parliament, by visiting your school, or online.

Our sessions:

  • are designed to develop the principles of democracy and citizenship
  • are in line with A Curriculum for Excellence and the Modern Studies Curriculum
  • contribute to political literacy aims.

All education sessions and resources are free of charge. The content of these sessions is largely the same, whether you are coming to the Parliament, doing an online session or if we visit your school. We cannot offer financial assistance for travel.

Bookings for February to June 2024 are currently open. A link to our online booking form can be found in each of the information sections below. Please check the information about our sessions before submitting a form.

Visits to the Parliament starting at 11am are now fully booked (except for 26 June), and 10am visits are nearly fully booked. There is good availability for afternoon visits (these don't include a tour but do include the chance to watch parliamentary business take place in the Chamber).

Visits to schools are available for May and June. There is good availability for digital sessions throughout the school term.

You can note in ‘additional info’ if you would like us to hold your booking on a waiting list in case suitable sessions become available. Please note, you cannot book sessions AND be held on the waiting list for the same class/classes.
