Question
To ask the Scottish Government what proportion of the NHS budget is spent on general practice costs.
Answer
The 2021-22 Scottish Budget provides £1.1 billion for investment in general medical services, in addition to £11.6 billion for our frontline NHS Boards.
General medical services includes general practice investment and a wider range of additional and linked services in the community, including pharmacy, mental health nursing, dental and ophthalmic.
