Question

To ask the Scottish Executive under what circumstances a planning authority will advise a developer to change the name or description of a planning proposal and what the relevant legislation or regulations would be.

Answer

Planning legislation does not specify circumstances or procedures in this regard. In practice, specific issues relating to the proposed development and the stage in the planning process will determine the advice given by the planning authority.
