Congratulating the Success of the Aberdeen Gift Card by Aberdeen Inspired

That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen Inspired on its recent success with the Aberdeen gift card, which topped the list of 70 local schemes as the most successful in the UK with record breaking sales; understands that this initiative was brought in to support local retailers and restaurants as they try to recover from COVID-19; applauds what it sees as this fantastic work, which encourages people to support their city centre, with a 40% average spending increase through the use of the card; understands that, in December, the card went digital, which improved its accessibility even further, and hopes that this work supporting the local economy can continue in the future.
