Nick Bryden, Local Parkinson's Nurse, Biggart Hospital, Prestwick

  • Submitted by: Siobhian Brown, Ayr, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 13 January 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-02789

That the Parliament celebrates Nick Bryden from Biggart Hospital, in Prestwick, in raising £2,500 to be spent on patients and staff; understands that the Parkinson's Nursing Specialist raised money through the sale of 150 wooden Christmas trees that he carved from off-cuts of wood; notes the contribution from four local artists, Ken O'Hara, Katy Storm, Neil Sinclair and Noel Stafford, who added their own artistic style to some of the trees that were eventually auctioned-off, which contributed over £300 to the grand total raised; recognises Nick’s dedication and time spent in producing and executing this feat, and understands that the money raised is being used to improve patients' hospital stays, such as through the purchase of Bluetooth speakers, toiletries and snacks, and to give treats to staff.
