  • Submitted by: Maggie Chapman, North East Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 20 December 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02584

That the Parliament congratulates the five young people who have been offered employment contracts with the Dundee Football Club Community Trust after participating in the 1893 Education Programme; notes that the 1893 Education Programme is designed to give young people in Dundee access to employment opportunities and experience working within a variety of sectors; further notes that the programme aims to improve the confidence of participants in an educational and employment setting; understands that each participant is offered one-on-one mentoring and training from what it sees as a vast array of employment sectors; further understands that the employment contracts offered to successful participants are 12 months long and are all full-time; believes that participating in the 1893 Education Programme gives young people the opportunity to explore which field they would like to work in and improves their confidence and mental health along the way, and wishes all new employees the very best in their new roles.
