West Lothian Local Named Clean Up Scotland Hero

  • Submitted by: Sue Webber, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 20 December 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02581

That the Parliament congratulates Winchburgh resident, Aileen Murdoch, for being presented with a Clean Up Scotland Hero award for her tireless, weekly efforts to litter pick, come rain or shine; understands that Aileen litter picked locally for years before working with the Winchburgh Community Growing Group to launch the Winchburgh Wombles in June 2020; further understands that Aileen has racked up the most hours and bags of collected litter as part of the group's overall 169 hours and 9,090 bags, and also delivers all the PPE and stock to new Wombles, helping to guide them when they join the group; thanks Aileen for her hard work, and wishes her group continued success in the future.
